Epoxy Floor Coatings

Our epoxy floor coatings combine soft and hard elements to create a significantly strong adhesive that is then combined with sand, quartz or vinylchip prior to being installed.

Quartz/Sand Floor Coatings

Quartz floor coatings create a very durable epoxy surface. Quartz flooring is textured more so than vinylchip and is a harder floor. Quartz is often ideal for commercial properties and comes in an array of colors, with either a matte or gloss finish.

Vinylchip Floor Coatings

Vinylchip floor coatings consist of baked and cut vinyl paint chips. You have a wide range of colors and different combinations to create the perfect vinylchip floor in your property. You can choose from vinyl chips in 1/8 inch or ¼ inch size; the larger chips are more noticeable than the smaller ones. This particular floor coating option is ideal if you need to hide concrete that is spotted, distressed or cracked and not nearly as pleasing to the eye as you would like.

Colored Epoxy Flooring

Who says you need to spend a fortune to have beautiful, affordable flooring? While colored epoxy is not quite as appealing as the vinylchip or quartz flooring it is still longer lasting than a simple coat of paint over your concrete. It also works well for those working with a limited budget. Keep in mind, however, that colored epoxy is soft so it could undergo gouges or nicks that won’t be hidden very well.

Features & Benefits of Buffalo Epoxy Floors

Epoxy floor coatings are a permanent solution for your flooring needs and last much longer than a simple coat of paint over the concrete. Moisture easily builds in floors so if it does not have a way to release the moisture, it can build up and cause damage to the flooring.

Our epoxy floor coatings actually allow the concrete to breathe in order to prevent moisture entrapment. There are more benefits and features of epoxy floor solutions that make it such an ideal choice for many flooring applications.

  • Durable – Epoxy flooring is designed to withstand heavy foot, vehicle and even large machinery/equipment traffic.
  • Low-Maintenance – It can be tough keeping your floors clean, safe and healthy for your visitors and staff but with epoxy floors you will have an easy time cleaning them. Just soap and water are all you need to keep your epoxy floors clean and you won’t need to worry about re-coating the floors in the future.
  • Non-Porous – Areas or rooms that undergo a lot of debris on the floor (salons, bathrooms, etc) will find epoxy floors to be the perfect flooring choice. Epoxy floors are non-porous which means nothing will penetrate the surface and it’s super easy to keep clean.
  • Stain Resistant – Your epoxy floor will be safe from grease, oil, dirt and other staining substances.
  • Customized Flooring – You have a variety of colors to choose from for your epoxy floors and we can lay your epoxy flooring with a specified pattern, design or logo; ask us about this when you call!

Installing Epoxy Floors

Some projects consist of custom work so this has an impact on how much flooring we can lay in a day; from 400 to 1,000 square feet in a day. Obviously, the weather also has an impact on outdoor flooring installations so these projects are done during summer months to ensure ideal weather for efficient floor installation.

Indoor epoxy flooring can be installed at all times of the year and are great to have done during the winter months. If you’re curious how our epoxy floor installation process works, we’ve broken it down in to four steps.

1.  Preparation

Your existing floor will need to be prepared if it is concrete. Because concrete is hard and easily subject to gouges and imperfections, we will repair any cracks and sand the surface so that it is smooth and ready for primer. If any imperfections are present we will use a putty made of epoxy to fix them.

2.  Time to Prime

When we finish preparing your floor for installation, we will first prime the floor. We roll out an epoxy primer which ensures proper adhesion of the epoxy flooring solutions.

3.  Coloring Added

If you choose to have a colored epoxy floor we will now broadcast the vinylchip, sand or quartz onto the primer.

4.  Repeat as Necessary

Depending on the condition of the concrete, your floor might require several priming coats so as to achieve a smooth covering in result. Up to two to three coats of primer and color could be necessary. The layers are not applied one immediately after another and we sweep each layer to properly eradicate any excess vinylchip or quartz on the surface. Each layer of epoxy needs 8-10 hours to completely cure before applying a new coat.

Maintaining Your Epoxy Floors

You will be happy to know that your epoxy floor will be easily maintained in comparison to most flooring options. Epoxy flooring is durable and designed to withstand the heavy traffic of your property.

You can easily clean it with soap and water to eliminate the daily debris and dirt. Your epoxy flooring will last many years as long as the concrete substrate is in good shape; if the substrate shifts or moves at all, it could put your coating at risk for cracking.
